Our first ever program of exciting recent shorts from a country that remains a favorite among Americans.

Barbara Nava’s "The Ceiling" (Il Soffitto, 9 min.) Seven year old Josh is left at the old family villa by his father and spends the afternoon with his sick aunt in her bedroom. The two create a fantasy world that Josh remembers years later when revisiting the old house.

Corrado Franco’s "The Last Question" (L’ Ultima Questione, 15 min.) In the time it takes for a bullet to travel from the gun to its target, a writer must decide if he wants to live…or die! A surreal, metaphysical delight!

Barbara Nava’s "Suspended Over The World Below" (Sospesa sul Mondo Di Sotto, 18 min.) After her live-in boyfriend leaves her for another woman, Nisia wanders through the city at night in search of answers.

Vittorio Primerano and Renato Corazza "The Professor Third Life" (La Terza Vita del Professore, 16 min) Chronicle of an unexpected departure that causes the protagonist's friends and family to be deeply distressed.

Rolando Stefandi’s "La Matta dei Fiori" (30 min) A woman crazy about flowers takes possession of an abandoned field and grows a garden in it.

Discussion following with Barbara Nava.
