Cast & Crew Reunion – Screenwriter Leonard Schrader and Producer David Weisman In Person!

KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN, 1985, Strand Releasing, 119 min. Director Hector (PIXOTE) Babenco’s exquisite adaptation of Manuel Puig’s novel centers on a tormented political activist (Raul Julia) and a flamboyant gay man (William Hurt, in an Oscar-winning performance) who are imprisoned together in a hellish South American jail. The inmates’ only escape comes in the form of Hurt’s elaborate, film-induced fantasies of the fabulous Spider Woman (Sonia Braga). A surprise critical and commercial hit when it was released in 1985, KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN has been unavailable theatrically since its original run. Join us for a special Cast and Crew Reunion, following a screening of a Brand-New 35 mm. Print of the film! (KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN will be re-released in theatres in late July by Strand Releasing.)

Discussion following with producer David Weisman, screenwriter Leonard Schrader and other cast and crew members.
