Rare Film Noir

SHAKEDOWN, 1950, Universal, 80 min. A British film, also called SHAKEDOWN was accidentally shipped during our May 2001 Festival of Film Noir. To make it up to all of the disappointed die-hard Noir fans there will be a special screening of the SHAKEDOWN we intended to show.

Howard Duff plays a Weegee-like tabloid photographer caught up in a blackmail scheme that gets him in dutch with the Mob. One of the first films directed by Joe Pevney, one of the most recognizable noir character actors of the era (BODY & SOUL, THIEVES’ HIGHWAY).

Please Note: If you still have your ticket stub from the May 25th screening, you will be admitted without charge to this program. If you don't have a stub, you will have to pay.
