American Cinematheque's Awards Night
Viewing Party!

See the Oscars on our giant screen and enjoy the pre-show, drinks, a buffet, prizes and favors. Join the party! Tickets on sale until Friday, February 23rd at 6 PM. Only a very limited number will be available at the door.

This event is not sponsored or affiliated with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts or Sciences.

If you have ever wondered what Penelope Cruz’ petite Prada clad 'derriere' would look like projected on a 57 foot wide screen, you will DEFINITELY want to join us for the American Cinematheque’s Oscar (c)  Viewing Party at the legendary 1922 Egyptian Theatre... across the street from where "the industry's most glittering night" will unravel... unfold...? unfurl...? where Daniel Craig (aka 007) will make his Oscar debut, uttering the staggering,... "the envelope please" (or I’ll kill you)-- where Ellen DeGeneres will coax a smile out of "the industry"-- or instantly end her hosting career and where Clint Eastwood could very likely "make his own day" or someone else’s if he gets to present that tiny Gold Man to some lucky Ruthless Dictator, Monarch of England, Dirty Cop, Raunchy Grandfather, Fashionista, Heroin addicted School Teacher or Declining R & B Idol (to name but a few of our Oscar hopefuls). All guests will get a souvenir copy of an Awards Magazine complete with nominee odds, stories on the nominees and more, plus an Oscar (c) Party Favor!

2 PM sharp
Doors open for Buffet, Cocktails, Pre-Oscar (c) banter and Oscar (c) predictions (for fabulous prizes).

(Limos start to line up on Highland at 2:30 PM. You don’t want to get caught in that) Late arrivals: the doors will be locked, but will be checked at commercial breaks.

PARKING:
We suggest you enter the area from the South/East to avoid Boulevard closures at Highland and west of Highland. Sunset is not blocked off. Parking behind the theatre in the Grant Parking lots is available for $8-$15. Or head east on Selma there are lots at Selma & Cherokee and Selma & N. Schrader. You will NOT be able to park at Hollywood & Highland or exit at the Metro station there (next closest station is Vine). Free street parking on Sunset, Selma, Las Palmas, McCadden Place, Cherokee or other side streets may be available. Parking is also available at the Cinerama Dome parking lot on Sunset as well as the structure on the north side of the street at Hollywood & Vine (where the Baja Fresh is). Posted rates will apply and unfortunately we don't validate. You can find full street closure maps at www.oscars.org

WHAT TO WEAR:
Everyone is encouraged to come in their Oscar finest or as your favorite Oscar nominee (actor or character), but no pressure... you can come with or without your Harry Winston diamonds and we'll still love you, we'll really love you. Casual attire is okay.

If this is totally bewildering to you, but you think you might like to come if only you could figure out who Oscar Goldman is... check out www.oscars.org (they also have detailed street closure info.)

Tickets: $18 Cinematheque Members | $20 Students/Seniors | $25 General Admission. No vouchers/passes accepted. Ticket sales will close at 6 PM on Friday, February 23. A very limited number of tickets will be sold at the door (first come, first served). Details
