Double Feature: DEAD ALIVE (aka BRAINDEAD), 1992, Lionsgate, 97 min. The
poisonous bite of a Sumatran rat monkey leads to an out-of-control zombie epidemic in
Peter Jacksons deliriously entertaining gross-out fest. Its over-the-top gore
and slapstick recalls Sam Raimis EVIL DEAD movies, but its off-kilter sense of wit
and New Zealand atmosphere are pure Jackson. Trailer
CEMETERY MAN (aka DELLAMORTE
DELLAMORE), 1996, 105 min. Director Michele Soavi (THE CHURCH, STAGE FRIGHT) adapts
Tiziano Sclavis darkly humorous graphic novel "Dylan Dog" into this
eccentric, sumptuously photographed zombie film. Rupert Everett is Francesco Dellamorte, a
lonely, romantic caretaker who needs to keep killing the undead that stubbornly keep
rising from the graves in his cemetery. Print courtesy of the Sundance Collection at

Double Feature: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, 1968, 96 min.
Director George Romeros unqualified masterpiece pits a handful of citizens holed up
in a farmhouse against a newly revived horde of flesh-eating zombies. The cast of talented
unknowns (headed by Duane Jones) are all alarmingly believable as they fight for life,
trying to escape a bad dream that gets uncompromisingly worse and more horrifying as the
hours crawl by. Trailer
ZOMBIE, 1979, Anchor Bay Entertainment,
91 min. A zombie epidemic breaks out in the Caribbean and non-stop carnage ensues in this
classic gorefest from horror maestro Lucio Fulci. Highlights include the world's greatest
fight between a shark and a zombie! Buy
