TICKETS AND BOX OFFICE

Box Office Hours

Box Office Hours: Opens 90 minutes before the first program of the day/evening. Closes 30 minutes after the last film of the day/night begins. The box office is only open on days/nights when there is an American Cinematheque program. Check our website calendar for details. Hours vary. When the theatre is rented for a private event, the box office will not be open.

Ticket Prices

Special prices for some programs will be listed on the event page of
the program.

$12 General
$10 Seniors 65+ & Students (with I.D.)
$8 American Cinematheque Members

  • Advance tickets are available on Fandango.com for American Cinematheque members and general admission. Student and Senior tickets are only sold at the box office. Students must purchase tickets in person and bring a current student I.D. and state-issued I.D. card or driver’s license with photo to buy a student ticket. Seniors must purchase tickets in person and bring a valid state-issued I.D. card or driver’s license with photo to buy a senior ticket.
  • Tickets are available at the box office during box office hours. The box office accepts cash and major credit cards only.
  • The box office only sells tickets for the theatre where it is located. In other words, you cannot go to the Egyptian Theatre to get tickets for a show at the Aero Theatre.
  • To avoid long lines to get into the theatre, plan to arrive 30 minutes or more in advance of show time.
  • If you are coming in person to purchase advance tickets, avoid peak hours. For example, come after the first movie starts, before the box office closes. The lines are usually longest 20 minutes prior to show time.
  • It is assumed that events are not sold out unless specifically stated on this site. Many times events sell out at the door when box office opens.. The best way to make sure you get a seat is to buy a ticket in advance. There will be a standby list line for sold-out shows that will form in the courtyard the day of the screening. Details on this in the theatre policies section.
  • Multi-feature programs and marathons are the same price whether you see one movie or all. The box office remains open to sell tickets until 30 minutes after the last film of the day/night begins. You can figure out the approximate start time by adding about 10 minutes to the running time listed. There is generally a 10-minute intermission. If there are other components to a program that may add to the start time of the second feature, such as a discussion or short film, this information will also be listed.

Fandango

  • Advance tickets are sold on Fandango.com or on the Fandango mobile app, available for download from your app store on your mobile device.
  • Fandango only accepts United States credit cards. Processing fees will apply to all ticket orders on Fandango.com No convenience fee will be charged at the box office.
  • The American Cinematheque does not have programs every day. On days where there is no program, Fandango will say “no movie showtimes today.” Click on the gray bar with dates to find coming attractions. On the right sidebar there is a list of upcoming shows under the heading “Pre-Sale Tickets.”

FREE PROGRAMS

  • Programs indicated as “Free” usually require RSVP on Eventbrite.com – others will indicate that you just need to show up and get in line at the theatre.
  • Members of the American Cinematheque always have priority entrance if they are at the theatre when doors open. If programs are only free or available to members, members will be emailed a password to RSVP.
  • These screenings are overbooked to insure a full house. If a screening is indicated as sold out, you can still come in person on the day of the event to line up in a standby line. Seating is not guaranteed, but if you are there when the box office opens (90 minutes prior to show time), you have a chance of getting in.

REFUNDS

  • No refunds or exchanges from the box office for tickets purchased on Fandango.com. The American Cinematheque will provide cash refunds if a program is canceled or has been significantly altered from what was advertised for circumstances beyond our control. An example might be that a print did not arrive, so another film is shown in its place. If you purchased tickets on Fandango.com you can refund your own ticket BEFORE THE SHOWTIME, by using your purchase confirmation code in your account. You can contact Fandango at support@fandango.com if you cannot figure out how to do this on your own.
  • Fandango will not refund tickets after the show time has passed.
  • If there is an issue with a presentation (such as a sound defect or a faded print) and you do not wish to stay for the show, you may request a voucher from the manager if you exit the theatre within 20 minutes of the start time. The voucher will entitle you to return to the program of your choice.
  • Each show you buy is a separate transaction for security reasons. You will have a separate confirmation code and print at home or mobile bar-coded ticket for each individual movie you buy using Fandango.
  • All advertised shows are open to the public unless noted otherwise.
