ABOUT THE FILM:

Barry Sonnenfeld’s 1993 sequel to the 1991 hit adaptation of the series based on Charles Addams’ characters brought in the legendary Paul Rudnick (SISTER ACT, JEFFREY, IN & OUT) to pen a screenplay that positively oozes a gay sensibility. From the barrage of barbed one-liners (“I’ll be the victim!” “…all your life.”) to Joan Cusack’s iconic turn as scheming femme fatale Debbie Jellinsky, Rudnick’s script has grown more beloved by queer audiences with each passing year. The pièce de résistance, of course, is Wednesday Addams’ takeover of her summer camp’s reenactment of the first Thanksgiving, at once gloriously deflating the cheery mythology around the holiday and celebrating the chosen family of camp outcasts and weirdos.
