Home / Now Showing / AFTER BLUE
Sometime in the future, Earth has been abandoned and humanity has settled on After Blue – a planet that seems to be exclusively hospitable to women. When the notorious criminal Kate Bush is freed by Roxy, the teen daughter of the colony’s hairdresser Zora, the duo are exiled to the wilds in order to track down the criminal. Armed only with Gucci rifles and Paul Smith pistols, the mother-and-daughter will encounter alien sights they could never have dreamt of in their wildest fantasies.
Bertrand Mandico returns to the silver-screen after the brilliant WILD BOYS, this time taking on the Western genre to concoct a kaleidoscopic, erotic, queer fantasy that will astound, outrage and utterly delight. Equal parts Jodorowsky and FANTASTIC PLANET, AFTER BLUE is a midnight film for the connoisseur – a trip from which the audience may never want to return.
Featuring an utterly mesmerising score from Pierre Desprats and cinematography that frees the imagination in its wildest forms, join Beyond Fest on a journey way beyond the stars, to a planet where anything and everything is possible. – Evrim Ersoy
