Home / Now Showing / FATHER OF THE BRIDE
Academy Award winners Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor star in this classic comedy about a devoted father’s survival–from the time his daughter announces her engagement until the last guest departs from the wedding and reception–as The Father of the Bride. Attorney Stanley T. Banks (Tracy) finds himself unprepared when his daughter, Kay (Taylor), announces her engagement to Buckley Dunstan (Don Taylor), while wife Ellie (Joan Bennett) and son Tommy (Russ Tamblyn) burst with enthusiasm for Kay’s wedding. But for Stanley, gaining a “son” offers no consolation for the loss of his baby girl, who’s all grown up now with a life of her own. Maybe everything will work out–that is, if Stanley can accept Buckley and survive the wedding. And who’s paying for that? Well, naturally, the Father Of The Bride. Based on the novel by Edward Streeter.
