Kirrary, Ireland. 1916. In a stark coastal village, Rosy (Miles), the young wife of the local schoolmaster (Mitchum) meets a British officer (Christopher Jones) while working in her father’s pub. Passion sparks instantly between the two, but during the troubles between Ireland and its British masters, no good can come of their relationship. And when someone betrays local Irish rebels to the British, devastating rumors spread about Rosy, pub-owner Ryan’s daughter.
