ABOUT THE EVENT: Join us for a special one-day charity event celebrating the 40th anniversary of THE CARE BEARS MOVIE, presented in partnership with Cloudco Entertainment. This nostalgic screening marks the soft launch of Saturday Morning Cartoons, a new brand dedicated to honoring the legacy of animation and giving back. The event takes place Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, and features a post-screening panel hosted by award-winning voice actor Eric Bauza, with special guests Arna Selznick (director), Cree Summer (original cast), and Andre Meadows (@BlackNerdComedy). The day also includes a screening of the whimsical animated short “Nimbus” (2022) by Rémy Poisson, and an exclusive Cakeworthy pop-up shop with themed merchandise celebrating THE CARE BEARS MOVIE and classic Saturday morning cartoons. Proceeds benefit two nonprofit organizations: AnimAID, supporting animation professionals in crisis, and Legends Animated, which champions independent animation and student-led initiatives like the 24 HOURS Animation Contest. Arna Selznick, 75 Mins, Park Circus, USA/Canada Orphanage manager Mr. Cherrywood (Mickey Rooney) tells a story about the Care Bears. In it, a young magician’s assistant falls prey to an evil spirit (Jackie Burroughs) intent on destroying all happiness in the world. It is then up to a group of Care Bears, including Friend Bear and Love-a-Lot Bear, with help from a couple of orphans, to stop the spirit using their caring powers. FORMAT: DCP
