Described by Béla Tarr as an “anti-movie” made in opposition to the conventions of Hungarian cinema, THE OUTSIDER is set in a small industrial town and follows András, a music-loving young nurse, who is fired for alcoholism. It’s another failure in his life. As he wanders through the city, András drifts aimlessly through his relationships, both social and romantic.
