ABOUT THE SERIES: This Halloween season, the spotlight belongs to the divas. Though the term “diva” has sometimes had a negative connotation, Merriam-Webster simply defines it as “a usually glamorous woman who is preeminent in her field of activity.” From queens of Versailles to queens of soul, we’re taking a look at the different ways women can be divas. How do they come to be? How are they shaped? How are they remembered? In this series, these diva-esque protagonists embody an array of traits in their journeys including but not limited to: resilience, glamour and an apologetic nature. Though each is different, we’re still captivated and mesmerized by each of all of their presence. It’s time to reclaim the word and witness the dawn of cinematic divadom.
