ABOUT THE SERIES:
The American Cinematheque is delighted to welcome British filmmaker Jonathan Glazer to the Aero Theatre for his critically acclaimed new film THE ZONE OF INTEREST (winner of the Grand Prix and the FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes Film Festival).
Known for his powerful portraits of flawed characters, Glazer’s work is often concerned with allegories of human isolation and existentialism. Despite this thematic through-line, his four feature films are not bound to genre. SEXY BEAST follows a retired gangster back into a life of crime; BIRTH is a supernatural exploration of familial grief; and UNDER THE SKIN is an ambient take on body horror. In celebration of his latest film, this complete retrospective looks back at Glazer’s illustrious filmography.
