The American Cinematheque celebrates the life, legacy, and music of Grammy-winning composer Angelo Badalamenti, known for his acclaimed collaborations with filmmakers and artists such as David Lynch, Paul Schrader, David Bowie, Shirley Bassey, and more. Angelo Badalamenti’s breakthrough came in 1986, when he became Isabella Rossellini’s singing coach in Lynch’s BLUE VELVET. His scores featured in some of the biggest hits of the decade, including NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION and A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS. Following his work on the cult hit TV show TWIN PEAKS and TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME, he gained worldwide success with films like THE CITY OF LOST CHILDREN, HOLY SMOKE!, and A LATE QUARTET. Badalamenti is remembered for the haunting, ambient scores that contributed so much to some of the most beloved films of the past 50 years.
