ABOUT THE SERIES:
Released in November of 2024, the second volume of World Film Locations: Los Angeles expands the careful curation of the popular first volume to further reveal both the famed and hidden parts of a city that affords filmmakers an endless panoply of locations that prop up both character and story. Fifty more wide-ranging scene synopses and a handful of insightful essays take readers on a guided tour through the City of Angels conducted by the likes of Robert Altman, Paul Thomas Anderson, Emerald Fennell and John Carpenter. At a time in L.A.’s history when it is more critical than ever to celebrate its unparalleled filmic landscape, this concise volume reveals how the city captures the imaginations of filmmakers and audiences worldwide.
March’s ‘Watch Local’ program invites the L.A.-based contributors Jared Cowan, David Wasco and Sandy Reynolds-Wasco, David Lyons, Robert Foulkes and Andrew Nock of World Film Locations: Los Angeles Volume 2 to each introduce a film they covered in the book.
