Tribute to Robert Pattinson

The Annual American Cinematheque Awards

The American Cinematheque will present the 40th Annual American Cinematheque Award to Robert Pattinson on Tuesday, February 9, 2027.

For four decades, the prestigious American Cinematheque Award has recognized extraordinary artists whose talent, vision, and contributions have made a lasting impact on cinema. Their passion and filmography not only exemplify excellence in filmmaking but also reflect the cinematic artistry and breadth of American Cinematheque’s programming, which bridges film history to its future and celebrates the theatrical experience.

This year’s milestone 40th presentation marks an especially meaningful moment in the American Cinematheque’s history, celebrating both the remarkable legacy of the award and the Organization’s enduring contributions to cinema.

40TH ANNUAL AMERICAN CINEMATHEQUE AWARD HONOREE

Robert Pattinson

With a career spanning more than two decades, Robert Pattinson has established himself as one of the most distinctive and versatile actors of his generation, moving seamlessly between independent cinema and major studio productions.

In 2026, Pattinson’s versatility was spectacularly showcased when he starred in four films so vastly different from one another that the only commonality between them was him. From a happily engaged turned spiraling groom in A24’s darkly funny The Drama to the playfully villainous Antinous in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster The Odyssey to portraying journalist Chris Hansen in the psychological thriller, Primetime to a shapeshifting ‘Face Dancer’ assassin in the upcoming Dune: Part Three, Pattinson’s mesmerizing range has never been more apparent.” Pattinson’s willingness to subvert expectations continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Pattinson is currently in production on Matt Reeves’s The Batman Part II, the sequel to 2022’s highly successful The Batman.

In 2025, Pattinson starred in and executive produced Die, My Love, alongside Jennifer Lawrence. Additionally, Pattinson starred in Bong Joon Ho’s critically acclaimed Mickey 17, with Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie and Toni Collette. Other notable credits include Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse, opposite Willem Dafoe, and Josh and Benny Safdie’s Good Time.

Pattinson gained industry attention at 19 years of age when he joined the Harry Potter franchise in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and is also known worldwide for The Twilight Saga.
