Home / Now Showing / FOUR NIGHTS OF A DREAMER
Based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s short story “White Nights,” Bresson’s rarely screened FOUR NIGHTS OF A DREAMER follows the wandering Jacques (Guillaume des Forêts), who has a chance encounter with a stranger named Marthe (Isabelle Weingarten) on the Pont-Neuf in Paris, as she contemplates suicides in a moment of desperation. Over four nights, Marthe recounts her troubles to the smitten Jacques through a series of dreamlike flashbacks.
