ABOUT THE FILM: In German with English subtitles. The Schober’s are a typical middle-class family, complete with overall-wearing son, yappy dog, and charming vacation home on the shores of a picturesque Austrian lake. Things take a turn for the worse, however, when two strange young men arrive at their doorstep asking to borrow eggs. Little do they know, the family has already begun playing a brutal game of physical and mental torture from which they may never return. Michael Haneke’s cult favorite FUNNY GAMES is an unflinching critique of the modern media’s fascination with violence and the society all too well acclimated to it.
