Twelve-year-old Marie’s world begins to expand when her Parisian family visits relatives outside Avignon at the outbreak of WWII. Alongside her own change of life, Marie is overwhelmed by an attraction to older man Alexandre. As the family’s relationships (and the world itself) grow more complex, Marie must choose what kind of woman she wants to be.
