What paparazzi are to celebrities, Lou Bloom (Jake Gyllenhaal) is to crime and accident victims, racing through Los Angeles with a video camera for gory scenes he can sell to a local TV news producer (Rene Russo). In his quest to be first with the most sensational footage, Bloom moves from cutting a few journalistic corners to increasingly dangerous risks.
