ABOUT THE FILM Sumi, a young girl, has been raised by her adoptive polar bear mother in a post-apocalyptic world where the conditions are harsh and the occupants even harsher. When an encounter with a roving band of warrior women sees Sumi separated from her mother, she’ll use her wits and her skills to enact a bloody escape and leave a trail of blood across the frozen wasteland as she tries to find her mother. K.C. Carthew’s POLARIS is a full-blooded battle cry of a film bringing together an incredibly game cast, a real (!) polar bear and the most brutal post-apocalyptic world we have encountered since Fury Road’. With only non-verbal communication and no technology, this brutal world is also home to some incredible characters which Sumi encounters on her journey, enacting change step by step.
