Home / Now Showing / THE BLING RING
A group of fame-obsessed middle-class teens terrorized Hollywood over an eight-month period in 2008-09 when they embarked on a series of robberies at celebrity homes. With loot totaling some $3 million, their high-profile exploits and subsequent criminal case is dramatized in Sofia Coppola’s dramedy about growing up, breaking out, and a very specific sort of millennial ennui. Katie Chang, Israel Broussard, Emma Watson and Taissa Farmiga play the tearaway teens, while Paris Hilton – burglary victim who provided her house as a filming location – cameos in the film that made “I wanna rob” an internet sensation.
