ABOUT THE FILM: In Polish with English subtitles. Adapted from the novel by H.G. Wells, THE WAR OF THE WORLDS: NEXT CENTURY was banned by the Polish government for several years due to the overt comparison drawn between the authoritarian dystopia of the story and the real political circumstances amidst which it was released. When visitors from an advanced Martian civilization arrive to Earth, popular television personality Iron Idem must decide whether to broadcast pro-Martian propaganda on behalf of the regime that’s rapidly destroying his life, or speaking out against it, risking death in the process.
